Troubleshooting

The Samsung SU-2950 Series Vacuum Cleaner has some known problems that occur often. Here are some easy to do solutions for the problems or error codes your Samsung might be giving you.

Cleaner won’t run

The vacuum cleaner is not running when switched on. Ensure the unit is firmly plugged into a working outlet. If there's no voltage, check the fuse or breaker. Replace any blown fuses or reset tripped breakers. Additionally, check if the filters are blocked or dirty and clean them according to the manual instructions.

Poor job of dirt pickup

The vacuum cleaner is not effectively picking up dirt. Empty the Dirt Cup if it is full or clogged and check for blockages. Additionally, inspect the belt; if it is broken or worn, replace it to ensure optimal performance.

Dust escapes the Dirt Cup

Dust is leaking from the Dirt Cup during operation. Re-install the Dirt Cup properly to ensure it is securely in place and functioning correctly.

Safety Instructions

Always unplug the vacuum cleaner when not in use and before servicing. Never leave it unattended while plugged in to prevent risks of fire, electric shock, or injury.

Filter and Dirt Cup Maintenance

Empty the dirt cup and clean the filter frequently, especially when picking up fine materials like powder, to maintain optimal performance.

Operating the Vacuum

Use the power switch to turn the vacuum on and off. The handle has three positions: upright for storage, operating for general use, and low for cleaning under furniture.

Carpet Height Adjustment

Adjust the nozzle control dial for various carpet pile heights: lowest for bare floors, medium for short to medium pile carpets, and higher for deep pile carpets.

Proper Use of Power Cord

Do not pull or carry the vacuum by the cord, and avoid pulling the cord around sharp edges or corners.

Maintenance - Clearing Blockages

Disconnect the cleaner from the electrical outlet before checking for blockages. If the vacuum motor's sound changes, inspect the hose and nozzle for clogs.

Handling and Storage

Store the vacuum cleaner indoors in a cool, dry area. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces and do not unplug by pulling on the cord.

Cleaning Tool Attachments

Attachments can be used for cleaning furniture, drapes, stairs, and corners. Ensure the vacuum is stable on the floor when using attachments.

Troubleshooting - Poor Dirt Pickup

Check if the Dirt Cup is full or clogged and empty it as needed. Inspect filters and clean them if blocked.

Transporting the Cleaner

To move the vacuum from room to room, tilt it back on its rear wheels in the upright position and push forward.

Maintenance

Check out our tips to prevent many common issues and extend the life of your Samsung Vacuum Cleaner.

Regular Maintenance

Ensure the vacuum cleaner is unplugged before performing any maintenance. Regularly check the hose, nozzle, and filters for blockages. Clean or replace them as necessary to maintain optimal performance.

Dirt Cup Management

Empty the Dirt Cup when the dirt reaches the 'Full' line. Slide the Cyclone-Lever to the 'Unlock' position, remove the Dirt Cup, and empty the contents into a garbage container. After cleaning, secure the Dirt Cup back in place by sliding the lever to the 'Lock' position.

Filter Cleaning

Clean the Pre-Motor and Post-Motor filters regularly to prevent dust and debris from affecting the motor. Twist the Filter Cup counterclockwise to unlock and remove, then clean the filters.

Belt Inspection

Check the belt under the bottom plate periodically for wear and tear. Replace the belt if it shows signs of damage to ensure the agitator rotates effectively.

Avoid Blockages

Do not use the vacuum cleaner with any openings blocked. Keep openings free of dust, lint, and hair to ensure proper air flow. Clear any clogs that may occur in the hose or nozzle.
